Changes in the Ranks
Several New Chairpersons Elected

The Utah Youth Soccer Association is proud to announce several volunteer staff changes that have taken place in the last month. With the recent election of Leisa Vineyard as UYSA President the District 2 Chair position became vacant. Eric Blommer, previously the Assistant Chairperson, has now taken Vineyards place as the Chair of District 2.

Blommer has coached for many years including running the Challenge Cup Tournament, assigning referees, and even winning the prestigious U.S. Youth Soccer Association Girls Coach of the Year award! Blommer brings a great deal of experience and passion to the position and the State Board of Directors is looking forward to working with him.

In District 3, John Lowery served as the District Chair for two consecutive two year terms but did not seek re-election. Lowery spent the last two years doing a great job organizing his district to run more efficiently. For example, Lowery took on the task of working with Sandy City to secure all of the fields for every team within his district. He marked fields, moved goals, and also acted as Programs Manager for the new online registration program. Lowery has given immeasurable volunteer hours and is much appreciated by District 3 and the UYSA. He will continue to serve as the Programs Manager for the online registration program.

Utah Youth Soccer welcomes John Gygi who will be taking the position of the District 3 Chairperson. Gygi previously served as the Assistant District Chair. He is also a coach and currently holds his B license.

The success of the UYSA depends on its dedicated members who serve in these demanding positions. Vineyard would like to thank those who have given so many valuable hours of service and welcomes our newest additions.
