Upcoming Elections for Open Board Positions

On September 30, 2005, a special meeting of the General Council of the Utah Youth Soccer Association will be held to fill a vacancy on the Board of Directors. Elections will be conducted during the General Council meeting for the position of Boys Competition Director. The position became vacant immediately after the boys alignment meeting on July 27, 2005 with the resignation of David Malchenson. President Leisa Vineyard, has asked Kurt Cottrell to fill the position in the interim period before the special election.

Utah Youth Soccer association would like to thank David for all of the time and effort he devoted in serving the members of the association. The office of Boys Competition Director demands an enormous amount of time, effort, and commitment and he served the association well. His replacement will hold office for the balance of the two-year term.

Although nominations for this office need not be made in advance of the Council meeting, candidates who are willing to declare their candidacies in advance will be permitted to submit an announcement and position statement for posting on UYSA's website. Potential candidates for this position should contact President Leisa Vineyard for further information.
