COME CELEBRATE "SEPTEMBER IS YOUTH SOCCER MONTH!" In 2003, the US Youth Soccer Association launched the "September is Youth Soccer Month" (YSM) campaign in America to recognize and promote the positive role soccer plays in the day-to-day lives of America's families. Every year more and more youth associations across the country work with their local politicians to declare Youth Soccer Month for their cities and states. Last year, with the YSM Presidential Letter, 32 State Proclamations, and more than 50 events nationwide, it was a successful year in celebrating the game of soccer. This year will mark the third annual Youth Soccer Month Campaign, and it is sure to be even bigger and better than the first two years of celebration. We are proud to announce that Governor Huntsman has declared, "September is Youth Soccer Month in Utah" to help celebrate and promote the four YSM pillars of soccer: Fitness, Fun, Family, and Friends. We have teamed up with Real Salt Lake to bring you everything from "Parents Play Kids Day" to the "Why I Play" writing contest to raise awareness of the physical fitness, psychological and social benefits of participating in "The beautiful game." Following is a schedule of events sponsored by UYSA, Real Salt Lake, and Get a Kick Out of Reading that are sure to make Youth Soccer Month a fun success for everyone. For more information on Youth Soccer Month, visit www.usyouthsoccer.org. The UYSA would like to thank Governor Huntsman and his office, the US Youth Soccer Association, Real Salt Lake, and Get a Kick Out of Reading for their involvement and support for Youth Soccer Month.
