The first week of Region IV's ODP camp has concluded for Utah's '92 boys and the '91 girls. The respective ODP camps are held at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon for the boys and the girl's camp is held at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. The '92 boys were matched against Cal South, Washington, Oregon and rival Colorado (which Utah won convincingly 4-1). The '92 boys had three players selected to the Region IV ODP Pool: Derek Boggs, Karson Payton and Connor Salmon. In addition, both Derek and Karson were selected to attend US Soccer's U14 National Team Camp in Boston, Massachusetts July 31st to August 6th. The '91 girls found themselves matched against United, Cal South, Oregon and Colorado. Arguably, Utah's best performance came in an entertaining, yet disappointing, 2-1 loss to Cal South in which a questionable free kick was awarded in the final minute of play resulting in a goal and securing Cal South's victory. The '91 girls had three players selected to the Region IV ODP Pool: Hillary Anger, Cloee Colohan and Rachel Strawn. Building on last year's record-setting performance, this is a tremendous start for Utah and our ODP players and staff. The '91 boys and the '90 girls arrive to their respective camps this week and we wish them continued success in their play. Congratulations and thanks to all of the players, coaches and administrative staff for a job well done! |
