Utah ODP Region IV ODP Camp Update #2

The second week of Region IV’s ODP camp has concluded for Utah’s ’91 boys and the ’90 girls. The respective ODP camps are held at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon for the boys and the girl’s camp is held at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho.

The ’91 boys were matched against Oregon, Cal South, Colorado, Washington and Cal North. The ’91 boys started the week with a 1-0 win over Oregon and finished the week with an impressive effort eventually falling 0-1 to Cal North. The ’91 boys had one player selected to the Region IV ODP Pool: Francisco “Paco” Loza.

The ’90 girls found themselves matched against Hawaii, Cal North, the ‘91 Region Team and Arizona. “Utah undoubtedly plays the most attractive soccer of any team here in camp,” stated Cal North’s Head Coach. Cal North’s Head Coach then predicted that Utah would have more players in the ’91 Region Team Pool than Washington – his prediction held true. The ’91 girls had five players selected to the Region IV ODP Pool: Niki Fernandes, McKinzie Olsen, LaChere Anglin, Lindsi Lisonbee and Roxy Tebbs.

Building on last year’s record-setting performance, this is a tremendous start for Utah and our ODP players and staff. The ’90 boys and the ’89 girls arrive to their respective camps this week and we wish them continued success in their play.

Congratulations and thanks to all of the players, coaches and administrative staff for a job well done!
