Region IV ODP Camp Update #3

The third week of Region IV’s ODP camp has concluded for Utah’s ’90 boys and the ’89 girls. The respective ODP camps are held at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon for the boys and the girl’s camp is held at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho.

The ’90 boys were matched against Cal North, Idaho, Colorado, Cal South and Washington. The ’90 boys capped a phenomenal week of great results with an epic battle and victory over Cal South 3-2! The ’90 boys had three players selected to the Region IV ODP Pool: Jacob Hustedt, Matt Jensen and Daxton Beausoleil.

The ’89 girls found themselves matched against the ‘90 Region Team Pool, Oregon, Cal North and Washington. The ’89’s posted their best result of the week against Oregon winning 2-1; however were able to post exceptional performances in their other three matches, but simply struggled to find the back of the net. The ’89 girls had five players selected to the Region IV ODP Pool: Megan Ohai, Jessie Baddley, Elli Reed, Myriah Stockman and Lauren Hair.

State Technical Director Greg Maas noted that Utah’s ODP is quickly closing-in on last year’s record-setting performance and should surpass the Region Pool record for Utah selections in the coming week. “I can’t say enough how proud I am of our players, coaches and administrators – they have simply done an outstanding job,” said Maas.

The ’89 boys, ’88 and ‘92 girls arrive to their respective camps this week and we wish them continued success in their play. Congratulations and thanks to all of the players, coaches and administrative staff for a job well done!
