The JT Soccer Shootout is a fundraising event for long time Coach John Toomey. John and his family, Cara, Eric and Alyssa have been involved in soccer in Utah for many years John and Cara served as officers in both the Layton Strikers and Advantage soccer clubs and in the AYSO organization. In July of 2004, John Toomey, (JT) was diagnosed with a disease called AL Amyloidosis. The disease produces protein cells which the body is unable to excrete, therefore the circulate through the blood stream and deposit in various organs of the body. The disease has affected his heart, kidney and stomach. John is currently being treated with chemotherapy and is on long -term leave from his job as an air-traffic controller. Amyloidosis is an incurable disease; therefore JT will be dealing with this disorder the rest of his life. Please support us as we try to give back to a family who has always given of themselves for the soccer community. All funds raised will go to offset medical expenses; any donation would be greatly appreciated.
