Special Council Meeting Announced

As directed by the Utah Youth Soccer Board of Directors, President Leisa Vineyard has called for a Special Council Meeting. This meeting is being held to specifically address three sections of our current Bylaws and Rules. The sections are 3, 4 and 6, which address registration rules of play and competition.

In accordance with the current bylaw section 1:07.02, the earliest this meeting can take place is 60 days from this notice. That would make the date of this meeting May 20, 2005. It will be held at 7:30 pm across the street from the state office at the Holiday Inn Express.

1:09 AMENDMENTS
1:09:01 Any proposal to amend the Constitution, Bylaws and Rules of this Association may be made by any State Council member, by the Board of Directors, or by a properly constituted committee of this Association. Changes must be submitted in writing to the State Office in care of the Chairperson of the Rules and Revisions Committee not later than forty-five (45) days prior to the Annual General Meeting, and must be circulated to voting members not later than fifteen (15) days prior to the Annual General Meeting. As stated in the above bylaw, all changes are due to the UYSA office no later than April 8th by 5pm. Any proposed amendments submitted will then be reviewed by the Rules and Revisions Committee. This committee will consist of representatives from leagues, clubs and districts. Anyone interested in participating on this committee is encouraged to contact President Leisa Vineyard via email leisa_uysa@yahoo.com.

The goal of reviewing sections 3, 4 and 6 is to give more flexibility for each district, club and league in running and administering their program. It is also the goal to continue to recognize EVERY organization within UYSA. Change must include equality to all groups no matter the size.
