Utahns Called to U.S. U-17 WNT Camp in Florida

UYSA State Technical Director Greg Maas announced that Jessie Baddley of Ogden, Utah and Elli Reed of Park City, Utah have been called to National Team duty with the U.S. U-17 Women's National Team. Baddley and Reed are products of the Utah Youth Soccer Association's Olympic Development Program and club teams affiliated with UYSA. Baddley and Reed will be at training camp April 8-15, in Sunrise, Florida. According to U.S. U-17 WNT Coordinator, this training camp is replacing a trip to Mexico that was unfortunately canceled.

This is the third U.S. U-17 WNT Event for both Baddley and Reed just this year. Most recently, Baddley and Reed were at training camp March 2-9, at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California that featured two matches against Germany's U-17 Women's National Team. Notably, Reed scored in the 82:00 minute of the second game to equalize the match with Germany at 1-1. In addition, Reed had the lone U.S. goal in a 2-1 loss to the Ajax Women's Club later that same evening.

The U.S. U-17 WNT is in the early stages of attempting to qualify for the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, which will be the first-ever World Championship for this age group.
