US Youth Soccer Elects New Leadership

Jolene & Darl This past weekend, July 29-30, US Youth Soccer Association held its Annual AGM in Des Moines, Iowa in conjunction with the National Championships. During the meeting recognitions were made and new leadership was elected.

Region IV said goodbye to a long time friend, Darl Rose. Rose served as the Region IV Director for the past eighteen years. Over those years, Rose was worked to support thousands of players on all levels of play. His contribution to soccer is immeasurable and he will be sorely missed.

Elections were held to fill the Region IV Director position, and Jolene Woodhave, former Deputy Director, was elected. Woodhave is from Utah and has served in many capacities here, including Vice President of Utah Youth Soccer Association, before moving onto the Region IV office in 2000.

US Youth Soccer also elected a new President as David Messersmith had reached his term limits. The election was won by Larry Monaco, previously the President of Virginia Youth Soccer. Monaco brings a lot of experience to the table including experience serving on many US Youth and Federation committees.

Utah congratulates them both and looks forward to working with them in the future.
