They spend countless hours on the field teaching the team, and a countless more at home studying new training methods and doing paperwork. They act as a role model and a leader, while giving the players their own independence to learn from the game, make decisions, and have fun playing the game. They're our coaches, and deserve to be recognized!

If you have a coach that you think does excellent work for your team, now is your chance to nominate him or her for "2006 Coach of the Year."

The Coach of the Year Program was initiated to recognize top coaches throughout the United States in girls and boys programs at the state, regional and national levels. Coaches should exemplify the following characteristics:

• Dedication / Service to the game
• Longevity in the program
• Sportsmanship as exemplified by the coach and his/her team
• Success within the program (not a record of wins and losses)

Please fill out the Coach of the Year Nomination Form and send all nominations to Cindy at soccerbaron@comcast.net by Thursday, September 21. The winner will be announced at the UYSA AGM in 2007. Thank you for participating!
