Board Raises Pay for Referees to Encourage Increase in Available Certified Refs
In response to the increasing shortage of available referees, the UYSA Board of Directors has announced a new increased pay scale for referees. Norm Williamson, State Youth Referee Administrator, is excited about the change, "The pay increase will help referees and teams alike in that it will increase participation in referee certification programs, making more experienced referees available for UYSA games, as well as help keep referees on board for longer periods of time." If you are interested in becoming a referee, please click on the "Referees" page here on utahyouthsoccer.net for information on certification classes. Below is information on the pay increase, which will be EFFECTIVE FOR THE SPRING SEASON, STARTING MARCH 25, 2006. If you aren't able to become a referee yourself, you can still do your part to help ensure that we have enough referees by making it your team policy to always treat each referee with respect. This will help ensure that our referees participate for years to come, gaining valuable experience and providing quality officiating for Utah youth soccer.
