Eight Players Selected to Region IV ODP Pool

The third week of Region IV's ODP camp has concluded for Utah's '90 girls and the '91 boys. The respective Region IV ODP camps are held at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho for the girls and the boy's camp is held at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon.

The '90 girls, under the direction of Head Coach Patrick Rennie, found themselves matched against Hawaii, Cal South, Cal North and Arizona. Utah's '90 girls found themselves trying to balance both highly competitive match-ups, and finding time to rest players due to the high number of players selected to participate in daily invitation games. After a phenomenal week of both team and individual performances, the '90 girls placed a record-tying six players in the Region IV ODP Pool: Niki Fernandes, Lindsi Lisonbee, McKinzie Olsen, Chandra Salmon, Roxanne Tebbs and Kierstin Wood.

The '91 boys, under the direction of Head Coach Adolfo Ovalle, were matched against Oregon, Cal South, Idaho and Nevada. Utah had a tremendous week, with exceptional performances and results in all four matches. Utah's '91 boys finished the week 3-1, losing only to Cal South after being tied late in the match 1-1. The '91 boys had two players selected to the Region IV ODP Pool: Elias Galvan and Trevor Henderson.

The '89 girls and the '90 boys arrive to their respective camps this week and we wish them continued success in their play. Congratulations and thanks to all of the players, coaches and administrative staff for a job well done!
