The fourth week of Region IV’s ODP camp has concluded for Utah’s ’89 girls and the ’90 boys. The respective Region IV ODP camps are held at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho for the girls and the boy’s camp is held at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. The ’89 girls, under the direction of Head Coach John Gebhard, completed the final year of ODP for this extremely talented age group. Noted as the best team in camp by the Region Staff Coaches, Utah faced both tough opponents and numerous players participating in invitation games. After a long week of competition and training, the ’89 girls capped their week with an outstanding six players selected to the Region IV ODP Pool: Jessie Baddley, Hailee DeYoung, Lauren Hair, Megan Ohai, Elli Reed, and Myriah Stockman. The ’90 boys, under the direction of Head Coach Eric Landon, were matched against Washington, Nevada, Idaho and United. Utah’s match of the week came against a tough Washington team that was loaded with five players who were recently in residency with the U.S. Under-17 National Team in Florida. Both teams battled throughout and each had opportunities to steal the game, nonetheless, the game ended in a 0-0 draw – which was a fair result for both teams. The ’90 boys had two players selected to the Region IV ODP Pool: Daxton Beausoleil and Jacob Hustedt. The ’93 girls and the ’89 boys arrive to their respective camps this week and we wish them continued success in their play. Congratulations and thanks to all of the players, coaches and administrative staff for a job well done! |
