Avalanche U18 Girls Advance to Finals at Far West Regional Championships
Celtic Storm Streak Ends in Semi's
Utah State Cup Champions Avalanche won their semi-final match today against Colorado Real National with a score of 2 goals to 1. Avalanche scored the first goal of the game at about the 5th minute with a goal by Eli Reed. The team then held off Colorado and ended the first half ahead by one goal. Colorado scored at about the 64th minute of play. Avalanche took the lead again at about the 77th minute with a goal by Sydne Porter. The championship game will be played at 9:30 a.m. against California South's San Diego Surf. Avalanche played Surf in the preliminary round and came out with a 2-0 win. Congratulations Avalanche and good luck in the finals!
After scoring 11 goals and allowing only 1 goal against in four games, Celtic Storm hit a cold front and lost in the semi's against Colorado Rush Nike. The final score of the game was 3 goals for Colorado and zero goals for Storm. Celtic Storm has represented Utah six times at Regionals as the Utah State Champions since 2001. In 2002 made it to the Champsionship match and took 2nd place. Utah Youth Soccer is proud of Celtic Storms accomplishments and congratulate them on a great tournament.
