UYSA Sponsored National Youth License Course a Success! UYSA hosted a National Youth License Course this past August in Sandy. The National Youth License is a 6-day course regarded as the "A" course for youth coaching and is designed to provide directors of coaching, youth coaches, physical education teachers, and soccer administrators with the knowledge to successfully structure soccer environments for children ages four through twelve. US Youth Soccer National Staff, Virgil Stringfield from Florida and Greg Maas, instructed the course of eighteen students. Sixteen of the eighteen students were from Utah. Maas reports, "It was an exceptional course, and I greatly appreciated the efforts of the coaching candidates throughout the week. Each of these coaches are now faced with the challenge to go out in their respective soccer communities and help to create and foster the correct learning environments for our young players." Maas continued, "It was an honor to work with Coach Stringfield -- his experience and insight to working with the future of our game was outstanding. In addition, I greatly appreciated the dedication and support throughout the week, and the week's leading up to the course, by Site Coordinator Bruce Cuppett." Special thanks go out to all volunteers and participants and best of luck to our new National Youth License coaches!
