The Sparta '94 Girls had a fantastic showing at the Nike Harvest Cup in Irvine, California, reaching the finals after a weekend of quality soccer. Group play included a 2-1 victory against Snohomish United Fury from Washington, a 1-0 win against host team Irvine Strikers, and another 1-0 win against Tustin Premier Black. Sparta then won the Semi-Final in a penalty kick shootout against Glendora FC of Southern California. They were matched up in the Finals against one of the very best in the region, CRSC Infinity, who are also rank very high nationally. Even though the final result was a 4-0 loss, the team really pulled together this weekend and played some great soccer. Our coaches and parents are very proud of this group for having a very successful and fun tournament! Good job girls!
