Real Salt Lake will play its second international friendly of 2007, as the Major League Soccer side will play host to the Chinese Men's National Team on Thursday, June 7, with kick-off at Rice-Eccles Stadium slated for 7:00 p.m. MT. 2007 UYSA State Cup Champions will be recognized at half-time. China's match against Real Salt Lake will serve as the middle leg in its three-game tour of the western United States, a visit that will also include matches against the U.S. Men's National Team in San Jose, CA (June 2), and the Colorado Rapids in Commerce City, Colo. (June 10). The Chinese National Team will prepare for its journey to the States by traveling to Bangkok on May 16 for a friendly against the national team of Thailand.

The Chinese roster, led by Head Coach Zhu Guang Hu, features a handful of players playing their trade in some of Europe's top leagues, including English Premiership performers Sun Ji Hai (Manchester City), Zheng Zhi (Charlton Athletic), and Dong Fang Zhuo (Manchester United); Sun Xiang of Dutch Eridivisie champion PSV Eindhoven, and Shao Jia Yi from German Bundesliga side Energie Cottbus.

Much like the United States, China has made major strides in its national team program over the past decade, with impressive results over the past five years including the country's first-ever trip to the World Cup Finals during Korea/Japan 2002, a second place finish in the 2004 Asian Cup and the 2005 East Asia Cup championship. China will use its U.S. tour as preparation for the upcoming 2007 Asian Cup, set to take place in four countries across Southeast Asia - Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam - from July 7-29.
