This game will mark the first time either team will have the opportunity to compete State Cup. The game will feature Sparta 97 Blue coached by Spencer Bills vs. USA Red 97 Premier coached by Mark Osborne. Interestingly these teams finished 4th and 5th respectively in their league play. Proving that heart and determination will set the tone for the game. These two teams drew a 0-0 draw in last head to head match-up and will be looking to score and defend to prove that there team deserves the crown.
U-12 Time: 10:50 AM Field 4
A history of great matches has begun between these two teams. At the La Roca Cup this past summer Sparta 98 Blue coached by Justus Koelliker vs. beat La Roca Premier coached by Adolfo Ovalle in the final 6-0. A few weeks later at the Sparta Cup, La Roca Premier had a bit of revenge in the final with a 4-3 victory over Sparta 98 Blue. Setting the stage for the State Cup Championship each team is undefeated in the tournament and Sparta 98 Blue will look to defend their 2007 State Cup title. This game may just be the best one in the tournament.
U-13 Time: 9:20 AM Field 3
The U-13 age group will feature league co-champion Rampage CC coached by Craig Charlesworth vs. UC Strikers 95 coached by Ricky Espinoza. UC Strikers 95 have seen solid form lately, scoring 14 goals throughout the tournament. Rampage proved that they too belong in the final by beating their co-champion 2-2 (5-4 on penalty kicks). A well-contested game is to be expected as these teams play to say "Aloha," in June 2008.
U-14 Time: 11:40 AM Field 3
For those who love offense pay particular attention to this game. Utah Rush Nike 94 coached by Eric Landon vs. Sparta 94 Premier coached by Matthew Ellinger both bring impressive scoring records of 18 goals and 23 goals respectively to the final. Principles of defense may vanish for portions of the match but will need to be relied on if one of these teams plans on hanging loose at the North Shore.
U-15 Time: 9:30 AM Field 6
This match features two teams that are no strangers to State Cup championship play. La Roca Premier RM coached by Roger Mitchell vs. Sparta 93 Premier coached by Patrick Rennie. Over the past two years these two sides have seen plenty of action at the State Cup championships being 2007 finalists and 2006 champions respectively. Sparta 93 Premier brings a share of the most impressive tournament goal differential of plus 23, while La Roca Premier RM has relied on defense and steady play to reach the final. Both teams are poised and ready to prove that each of their past tournament history's, is no fluke.
U-16 Time: 11:30 AM Field 6
The match between Northern United coached by Jason Jentzch vs. La Roca-DP coached by Danny Parkhurst, will showcase two teams that finished 2nd and 1st respectively in their league play. Northern United handed La Roca-DP its only tie in an unbeaten season through both league and tournament play. Both squads will look to prove that that result should have been a win for either side as they clash for a chance to go to Hawaii.
U-17 Time: 10:30 AM Field 7
A U-18 league Division 1 champion, and a tournament unbeaten record team will face off in the match that features Utah Rush Nike 90 South coached by MJ Tate vs. Impact Black 91 coached by Connie Martin. Each team will bring intensity, commitment, and experience to the match to prove their sides' worth to be the representative for the Region IV tournament in Hawaii.
U-18 Time: 12:30 AM Field 7
Many view this match as the feature event of the 2008 State Cup tournament. La Roca Premier-AO coached by Adolfo Ovalle vs. Utah Rush Nike 90 coached by Arthur Vanwagenen will prove to be a good contest. In their last league game La Roca Premier-AO beat Utah Rush Nike 90 1-0. However Utah Rush Nike 90 finished one standing ahead of La Roca Premier-AO and has an impressive 4 wins in the tournament. La Roca Premier-AO has been very impressive in their past tournaments and will look to win their 3rd straight State Cup title.
