Utah Youth Soccer is well represented this week at the NJCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championships being held at Darton College in Albany, Georgia. The championship tournament is the best of the country’s two-year collegiate women's soccer programs, and includes teams from Maryland, Texas, Arizona, New York, Wyoming, Florida, Michigan, and Iowa.

The Iowa Western Community College roster boasts 14 former UYSA players from across the state. Seven are returning players who helped the Reivers earn their first trip to the national tournament last year. UYSA players represented this year includes Hannah Silvey of Springville; Karalee Baron and Marene Gomez of West Valley; Kim Olsen of Providence; Lindy Stauffer of Hyrum; Karley Nelson of Orem; Mileena Buchi of Grantsville; Jamie VanGrol of Kearns; Lauren Johnson of St. George; Erica Sholly, Katie Morgan, Marissa Booth, and Lindsey Bodene of Ogden; and Staci Kendall of Taylorsville.

This is the second appearance at the NJCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championships for the Lady Reivers. In the opening round held on Thursday, the Lady Reivers defeated Schoolcraft College 2-0. Iowa faced off against Laramie County Friday and won the match 3-1. CCBC-Catonsville will be Iowa's opponent in the champsionship match on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Last year the team finished as the national runner-up.
