On Saturday, April 26th, a TOPSoccer clinic was held in Bountiful, Utah with the Utah Rush - an affiliate club with Utah Youth Soccer. State Technical Director Greg Maas directed the clinic, and Coach Maas was assisted by Rush Technical Director Eric Landon. In addition to the technical staff, UYSA TOPSoccer Chair Sarah Smith assisted with the all-phases of the clinic. Other special guest coaches included the Rush U-13 and U-14 boys who were TOPSoccer "buddies" and rotated with the players to four different skill and activity sessions that were organized for the clinic.

The clinic went-off without a hitch. The weather was perfect, and most importantly, it was the countless smiles and the laughter that was the true testimony of how fantastic the event and experience was for everyone. The "buddies" did a wonderful job of encouraging the kids and making sure everyone had FUN!

The Utah Rush TOPSoccer program has approximately 40-45 boys and girls of all ages with various ability levels, and is under the direction of Colleen and Charles Fulks. With a tremendous amount of love and dedication, the Fulks' have done a phenomenal job in building a program that is to be admired. "I can't thank Colleen and Charles enough for their time and dedication to these great TOPSoccer players; and for creating such a positive and nurturing soccer environment," said Coach Maas.

TOPSoccer programs mean as much to the parents as it does to the kids who participate. Photos and smiles were just a few of the ways that appreciation was expressed. It was very evident that the parents also had a great time and they were excited to see their children succeeding at the different skills that were being taught and the games that were played.

Before the TOPSoccer Clinic ended, the kids were able to enjoy a few little demonstrations put on by players, as well as, by Coach Maas and Coach Landon. Each child walked away with new friendships, experiences, skills, and their own special goodie bag. "A special thank you must go out to all of our volunteer "buddies," and we greatly appreciate your help and influence with our amazing kids - soccer really is A Game for ALL People," said Sarah Smith.
