Maxfield, Malchenson Elected to Board of Directors
At the State Council meeting on Saturday, April 26th, Scott Maxfield and David Malchenson were elected to serve as UYSA's Vice President and Boys
Competition Director, respectively. Both Maxfield and Malchenson were
elected by acclamation. The State Council meeting, which lasted less than
fifteen minutes, was followed by an open forum discussion on the
Association's future.
Scott Maxfield assumes the vice-presidency after serving for more than a
decade as the President of League 13. David Malchenson, who moved to Utah
within the last two years, brings experience from his service to the
Central Pennsylvania Soccer Association. Malchenson currently coaches
both boys and girls teams in the State Competition League.
President Paul C. Burke congratulated both candidates on their respective
elections. "Scott Maxfield is supremely qualified to serve on the Board
of Directors," said Burke. "Scott has built an excellent organization in
League 13, and his wisdom, experience, and pragmatism will be invaluable
to the state association."
Burke also welcomed Malchenson to the Board of Directors. "David's
passion for the game is readily apparent," said Burke. "We appreciate his
willingness to serve as the Boys Competition Director."
The next meeting of the Board of Directors will be Thursday, May 15th. It
will also be the first meeting for Dave Mills, who was elected last week
to serve as the new Chairman of District 4.
