Southern Utah Affiliate: New Name, New Logo
Southern Utah Soccer Association Announces Changes

The southern Utah affiliate of the Utah Youth Soccer Association has changed its name and updated its logo. Formerly known as the Southern Utah Soccer League, this non-profit organization has modified its name to reflect its evolution from a solitary competition league to a complete player development program.

The Southern Utah Soccer Association (SUSA) now offers playing opportunities to young people of all ages and abilities in Utah's Dixie. At the base of SUSA's player development pyramid is its "KICKs" recreation program, which comports with the small-sized developmental philosophy of US Youth Soccer. Every child in the "KICKs" program is guaranteed to play at least half of each game, and fun is the league primary goal. SUSA's "KICKs" program is operated under the guidance of Eric Landon, a former professional player and now SUSA's Director of Operations. SUSA's recreation program is also designed to maximize the players' development of skills and technique in an environment meant to nurture a passion for the sport.

SUSA's KICKs program is the only recreation soccer program is southern Utah that affords its players a smooth transition to a competition program. SUSA also operates a Regional Competition League that serves competition teams in central and southern Utah.

Finally, at the apex of SUSA's player development program is its premier program. SUSA intends to provide its most competitive teams with the highest caliber training available in the region. SUSA intends to encourage these teams to enter the Utah Youth Soccer Association's State Competition League, just as SUSA encourages its most promising and motivated players to participate in the Utah Youth Soccer Association's Olympic Development Program.
