Feedback Sought on State Cup Seeding Process
Board to Review Role of President's Cup

At its upcoming meeting in August, the UYSA Board of Directors will review the State Cup seeding policy. In particular, the Board will discuss whether to retain the policy, first enacted in 2003, of automatically granting the top seed in each age group of State Cup to the champion of the President's Cup. This practice was adopted in hopes of stimulating interest in the President's Cup and in creating an incentive for top teams to participate in the President's Cup towards the conclusion of the fall season. The concept was to transform the President's Cup into a dry run for the spring season and the State Cup tournament. The Board seeks opinions from membership as to whether this goal was realized or, worse, whether the policy might have been counterproductive.
