Referee Assignor Clinic Scheduled for January 24th

State Director of Referee Instruction Bill Marsh announced today that he has scheduled a Referee Assignor Clinic for January 24, 2004, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Utah Youth Soccer Association conference room at 4476 South Century Drive, Suite D, Salt Lake City.

It is the objective of the National Program for Referee Development that all league and tournament matches sanctioned by State Associations and other affiliated members of the Federation are officiated by three qualified referees using the diagonal system of control, when possible, and that all referees are provided with proper assignments from a certified Referee Assignor that can ensure their development, retention, and opportunities for advancement. All referee assignors who successfully complete the introductory Referee Assignor Training Course may register as certified assignors with USSF.

The main goal of the Referee Assignor Training Course is to improve the quality and consistency of the assigning process within our State Association. The instructional material of the course consists of classroom lectures, problem solving exercises, role playing activities, and a practical assigning exercise.

Upon completion of the course there will be a $25.00 fee to register with the United State Soccer Federation. A complete list of currently registered referees is available to all registered Referee Assignors by contacting State Referee Administrator Orley Bills at (801) 571-1198 or the Utah Youth Soccer Association office at (801) 268-3365.

All interested individuals must RSVP to State Director of Referee Instruction Bill Marsh at (801) 969-7148.
