Audit Committee Announced

President Paul C. Burke announced today the formation of an Audit Committee
for the Utah Youth Soccer Association. At its last meeting, the Board of
Directors ratified the recommendation of both the President and UYSA's
independent auditor for an audit committee that will monitor the
organization's finances.
President Burke appointed the following members to the Audit Committee:
District 5 Chairman Michael Tate, District 7 Chairman Delon Brower,
Treasurer Tom Borrowman, and League 12 President Sal Del Gado. The
respective District Chairmen will serve on the committee for the balance of
the year, while Mr. Del Gado will serve as the President's representative.
The Treasurer is a standing member of the Committee.
The Audit Committee will be responsible for reconciling UYSA's financial
statements on a monthly basis. President Burke has asked the Audit
Committee to present current balance statements and budget comparisons at
each meeting of the Board of Directors. The Audit Committee will also have
a broad mandate to review UYSA's financial practices and to monitor UYSA's
internal controls.
To prepare for these duties, members of the Audit Committee will participate
in training from auditor Stephen Adamson from Smith & Adamson sometime in
early March. President Burke gratefully acknowledges Mr. Adamson and the
Audit Committee members for their efforts to improve UYSA's financial
management.
