Forum on UYSA Finances Held
President Paul C. Burke and Treasurer Tom Borrowman hosted an open forum on February 27th at the State Office to address questions and comments from UYSA members about both the audit for the 2001-02 fiscal year and the Association's current financial situation. Stephen K. Adamson of Smith & Adamson also attended the meeting to explain the findings from the audit and to discuss how UYSA's internal financial controls are being improved.
Although attendance at this open forum was sparse, important issues were raised and discussed. Considerable work remains to be done to improve the Association's business management, but important steps have already been taken. The Board of Directors extends its thanks to all UYSA members who are monitoring the Association's financial progress, and particularly to those who attended the open forum. Finally, the Board of Directors gratefully acknowledges Mr. Adamson for donating his time and sharing his expertise at the open forum.
