March 24, 2004 JDA Selects Final State Team Pools Changes are in store for this year's Junior Development Academy (JDA). US Soccer is in the process of establishing U13 Youth National Teams; therefore, the process for identifying players has begun for the '91 boys and girls age groups. US Youth Soccer and the Region IV Olympic Development Program (ODP) are working together to add the younger age group to the current ODP calendar and Utah Youth Soccer has selected a final '91 state team pool in the boys and girls to participate in these ODP events. The first event for the '91 age group will be the ODP Mountain States Friendlies held June 4-6, 2004 in Utah. Additional events are being coordinated and may include the Region IV ODP Camp this summer. Technical Director Greg Maas and ODP Administrator Gail Ellison offered special thanks to all of the volunteers, administrators and coaches for their commitment to provide our state's top players an opportunity for development as individuals and players. "JDA is an excellent program for player development and now these young players have an early opportunity to be identified by Region IV and US Soccer," Maas said. Final selections were determined by individual technical, tactical, physical and psychological abilities; and final selections for this year's state team pools were exceptionally difficult. "I would like to thank each player and recognize their hard work and commitment to JDA; and I am confident that every player had a positive, challenging and rewarding experience," Maas noted. The following players have been selected to the final 2003-2004 ODP state team pools in the '91 age group:
