Tribune Publishes Premier Division Standings

The Salt Lake Tribune debuted a new feature on Sunday, May 16th. The Tribune published the current standings from the Premier Divisions of the Utah Youth Soccer Association's State Competition League. The standings appeared on page C6 in the Scoreboard of the Tribune's sports section. The standings can also be accessed online via this link:

The Tribune has agreed to publish standings from the State Competition League in the Sunday edition every week through the end of the spring season. The standings will reflect the results through the previous Friday. Coaches are therefore encouraged to promptly submit match reports for inclusion in the standings.

Tribune Sports Editor Jay Drew, a longtime observer of youth sports in Utah, accepted the invitation of UYSA President Paul C. Burke to publish the standings after the Tribune received feedback from readers who wanted to see more coverage of youth soccer in the Tribune's pages. "We are pleased that the Tribune is willing to publish these standings," said Burke. "The players and teams in the Premier Division are deserving of this attention."
