Teams Dream of Hawaii as Pool Play
Continues in State Cup Tournament
The Spring 2003 State Cup Tournament has entered its second week with more
than 148 youth teams competing for the right to represent that state of Utah
at the Far West Regional Tournament, which will be held this year in Hawaii.
With the competition keen, and with dreams of soccer and surfing at stake,
this State Cup tournament is inspiring quality play. Hopes are high and the

The State Cup Tournament is the culmination of the seasonal year for the
most competitive teams from the Utah Youth Soccer Association's State
Competition League, which is the state's premier youth soccer league. Girls
teams from U12 to U19 and boys teams from U12 to U14 are competing in
round-robin preliminary games through May 21. After the preliminary round is
completed, teams will advance into the knockout phase of the tournament.
Quarterfinal and semi-final games are scheduled to be played May 22-24th.
State Cup champions will be crowned after championship matches on Memorial
Day, Monday, May 26th.
Games will be played at the West Jordan Soccer Complex, Constitution Park in
