What's Up "DOC"? The Pioneer Cup
Application Information Now Available
A coalition of organizations from District 1 has earned the right to operate
the Pioneer Cup Tournament on behalf of the Utah Youth Soccer Association.
At the end of an open bidding process, the Board of Directors selected the
"DOC" bid.
The "DOC" coalition derived its name from the acronym for "District One
Clubs." Three clubs from the district---Wasatch United, Firebirds, and
Tsunami--collaborated on the joint bid for the tournament.
The DOC coalition has appointed Sharon Fassler to serve as its Tournament
Director for the Pioneer Cup during the inaugural year under DOC operation.
The Pioneer Cup will be held this summer between July 24-26. Separate
divisions are planned for competition and recreation teams. Pioneer Cup
champions will be guaranteed entry into the 2004 Icebreaker Tournament upon
timely payment of the Icebreaker's entry fee.
The tournament entry fee for the Pioneer Cup is $350. Interested teams may
