State Cup Quarterfinals Yielding Exciting Matches

Eleven places remain. On Friday, twenty-two teams will take to the field in State Cup quarterfinal action. By sundown, the semi-final brackets will be set, and eleven more teams will have to wait until next year to realize their State Cup dreams.

The first eleven semi-finalists earned places in action on Thursday. The beautiful game was played under beautiful conditions. Click [here] for an update on the progress of your favorite team in the competition.

Semi-final matches in every age division are scheduled for Saturday beginning at 10:30. The State Cup Finals will then be celebrated on Memorial Day. All games will held at the West Jordan Soccer Complex. Click [here] for a map to the complex and for scheduling information.

The State Cup Tournament is the culmination of the seasonal year for teams from the Utah Youth Soccer Association's State Competition League, which is the state's premier youth soccer league. The spring portion of the 2003 State Cup Tournament involves every girls' age group from under 12 to under 19 and boys from under 12 through under 15. One 148 teams entered this spring tournament. Eleven champions will be crowned on Memorial Day. These State Champions will represent Utah at the Far West Regional Tournament in Hawaii.
