X League Launched by UYSA for U-9 and U-10

The Utah Youth Soccer Association has announced the formation of a new program meant to bridge players between recreation soccer and the State Competition League. Beginning in fall 2004, the State Competition Boards will operate the X League for U-9 and U-10 teams. This league is open to interested teams across the state. Once registration for this league has closed, divisions will be formed on a geographic basis in order to minimize travel. At the end of the season, there will be a jamboree where teams from different divisions will be able to play each other. The results from the season ending tournament at the U-10 level may be used by the State Competition Boards during the alignment process for the entering U-11 divisions of the State Competition League.

The X League will feature an 8 versus 8 format. Team may have 14 or fewer players who must be born between August 1, 1994 and July 31, 1996. Teams wishing to enter the X League should follow the procedures for registration into the State Competition League.
