Amy Oakeson Hired As New Programs Director
Executive Director Scott Harward today announced the hiring of Amy Oakeson
as the Programs Director for the Utah Youth Soccer Association. "We had
the opportunity to steal Amy away from Sandy City's Parks & Recreation
Department and I am happy that Amy accepted my offer," Harward said. "I
look forward to working with Amy to serve this organization's membership."
Oakeson's hiring follows Leisa Vineyard's departure earlier this month.
Oakeson first made application for the Programs Director position in
January. When the position again became available, Harward reviewed the
applications on file and then offered the opportunity to Oakeson, who has
worked with youth recreation programs for the past eight years.
"Amy has experience and skills that will be an asset to the association,"
Harward said. "Of course there will be a slight learning curve, but I am
sure that Amy will bring energy and creativity to the State Office."
Oakeson joins the staff of the Utah Youth Soccer Association with a wealth
of experience involving youth recreational programs. In addition to her
employment with Sandy City, Oakeson served six years as a volunteer for
The Sandy Club, a boys and girls club.
