September 14, 2004 UYSA to Conduct Free Youth Soccer Clinic UYSA and State Technical Director Greg Maas are offering a free youth soccer clinic at Lone Peak Park on Friday, September 24th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Children ages 5 to 14 who are registered members of UYSA are welcome to attend. Players need to bring a ball, water and wear appropriate soccer attire. Prizes and giveaways will be provided by US Youth Soccer. The UYSA free clinic is in conjunction with the national celebration of youth soccer through Youth Soccer Month - Celebrating Soccer in America. Instruction for the free clinic will be provided by Greg Maas, and other UYSA State Staff and Olympic Development Program (ODP) Coaches. Interest in the sport of soccer is at its highest levels ever in the United States, with more than 19 million children ages 6-19, participating regularly. In fact, more children are participating in organized soccer than peewee football, youth basketball or Little League baseball. Recognizing the impact and importance the sport of soccer plays in the day-to-day lives of America's families, US Youth Soccer, the nation's largest youth sports organization is spearheading Youth Soccer Month - Celebrating Soccer in America, this September.
