Technical Director Selects ODP and JDA Staff for 2003-04

Technical Director Greg Maas has announced his staff selections and appointments for the Olympic Development Program (ODP) and the Junior Development Academy (JDA) for the 2003-2004 seasonal year. "Greg has once again assembled an outstanding staff," said President Paul C. Burke. "The ODP and JDA programs offer unparalleled opportunities for the players of the Utah Youth Soccer Association. These dedicated coaches are the bedrock of the program. These coaches and the excellent ODP administrative team collectively deserve our applause and appreciation for making the program possible."

The coaching assignments for the ODP and JDA staffs appear below, along with a listing of each coach's current licensure and club affiliations. Maas has also recommended the re-appointment of Gail Ellison for a second term as ODP Administrator. "Gail is the backbone of our program and her commitment to excellence is unmatched," Maas noted. "Gail has led a strong team of administrators and team managers." Burke will present the appointments to the Board of Directors for ratification at its next meeting. "I am very proud of our talented and dedicated staff," says Maas. "More importantly, I am excited that our players will have an opportunity to be part of this great program."

The mission of ODP and JDA is to identify and develop talented, committed youth soccer players to represent our state, region and country in soccer competition. The program also showcases players before college coaches and scouts. Numerous graduates of UYSA's ODP and JDA programs have earned college scholarships. A few players have even represented Utah as members of the U.S Youth National Teams, including Stephanie Ebner, who was part of the U19 World Cup Championship team.

Tryout information for the Olympic Development Program will be announced next week. Application forms will then be available on this website.
