Coach: Mauricio Menjivar

Current Team: Director of Coaching, Impact United Soccer Club

Coaching Experience: Many years coaching both recreation and competition players and teams. USSF National "B" License. Utah ODP State Staff Coach and Instructor.

Playing Experience: Learned the game of soccer playing in the dirt streets of Santa Ana, El Salvador. Walked on to play professionally for CD FAS 1980-1981.

Favorite Soccer Team: Argentina U20 National Team

Favorite Soccer Player: Lionel Messi (Argentina)

Most Memorable Soccer Experience: KNVB coaching course in Zeist, Holland. Attended the course in conjunction with the World U20 Championship.

Coaching Philosophy: I admire the training structure of the Dutch, the creativity of the Brazilians, and the heart of the Argentineans. Without players there is not a need for coaching. My center of attention is players; I focus on providing the best environment for their growth. I believe in positive reinforcement, and encourage players to work hard to make their dreams come true.

Favorite Movie: The March of the Penguins

Favorite Book: Tao Te Ching

Favorite Food: Thai Food

Special Interests: Psychology, Arts, Music, and Sport Science (currently a student at the University of Utah).

Mauricio Says: "In Soccer, when making a mistake, you have two seconds to feel sorry for yourself - then move on and play one play at a time."
