2020 UYSA SUMMER SERIES

The Series is not intended to be a warm-up for the upcoming Fall season, but a celebration of returning to play. All teams, coaches, players and parents will be required to follow current Public Heath Directives and the UYSA Guidelines that are currently in place.

 

  • The games are FRIENDLIES :-)
  • There will be no promotion relegation based on this series
  • There are no medals
  • Sportsmanship of players and coaches is critical
  • Integrity by coaching staff of the players selected for each game
  • Spectators are allowed to attend Summer Series games

LEAGUE ANNOUNCEMENTS

Schedules

  • If you are scheduled for a game on SUNDAY, it is a place holder while the teams find a reschedule dates (so the game does not take up field space that is being used during the week).
  • When the teams agree on a new date and time, have referee and field approval from the home team, use the Affinity reschedule button (both teams must accept), or email scheduler@utahyouthsoccer.net with the new game information.
  • Games that are marked as "played" but have not been played are games where the team has withdrawn from the series after the schedule was published. UYSA will not be rescheduling these games.
  • If a game does not have an opponent, it means a team has withdrawn from the series after the schedule was published. UYSA will not be rescheduling these games.
  • If a field is marked as TBD, the team shall contact their Club or the Home Team to finalize the field location.
  • Schedules are based off of the Spring 2020 age groups and brackets.
    • If your team was U10 or U12 in the Spring season, your schedule will be based off of that size field. If both coaches agree you may play the game off the 2020 Fall age group.?

If your team decides to opt out of the series AFTER the schedule has been published you will need to perform the following steps:

  1. Score your scheduled games as 0 - 0 
  2. Contact the opposing team to notify them the game will not be played.
  3. Contact the referee and field assignor (for your home games) to notify them they game will not be played.

Reschedules (Regions 1-5)

  • Teams have unlimited reschedules for this series per coach agreement. You will still have to work with your Field and Referee Assignors to ensure space and resources are available.

  • We ask that games be rescheduled following the UYSA Reschedule policy of 5 days prior to the scheduled match. 
    • If you have obtained permission from the Referee and Field Assignors to reschedule within the 5 days, please send copies to scheduler@utahyouthsoccer.net so we can assist you with the reschedule process.

 

Rosters

  • You will be creating and printing rosters for each game. You cannot use Digital Player Cards for the Summer Series games.
  • Tournament Rosters will be used for the Summer Series games. 
  • You will have unlimited guest players that you can add to your Tournament Roster.
    • All players must be of appropriate age. Players cannot play down.
  • There is no club passing for the Summer Series games.
  • All players must be registered with UYSA for the 2019/2020 seasonal year.
    • If a player did not register in the 2019/2020 seasonal year, please have them register to their team for the 2020/2021 seasonal year and then contact UYSA or your club's registrar to be placed on 19/20 roster.

 

Referee Payment 

  • Referees will be paid in full prior to the start of the game by each team.
  • Each team will need to ensure they have the correct denominations of cash. Referees are not required to make change.
  • Each team is required to bring the below amount for each game depending on the team age group.

Coach Responsibility

  • Coaches must always wear PPEs when addressing the team or players within a 6 radius
  • Limit equipment brought to games, disinfecting all equipment before / after use
  • Do not allow players to share pennies, other equipment, or water bottles
  • Report confirmed cases of COVID-19 to member organizing immediately and cease trainings and games
  • Require parents to confirm their child is symptom free before attending training by answering three question:
    1. Do you have a temperature at ≥ 38°C (100.4°F)
    2. Are you currently experiencing any symptoms including fever, cough, shortness of breath, lost sense of smell or taste, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea?
    3. Do you have anyone in your household that has tested positive for COVID-19, or exhibited a fever, cough, or shortness of breath?
 

Team Manager Responsibility

  • Monitor social distancing on sidelines by spectators

  • Monitor congregating of parents at the fields or in the parking lot pregame, halftime, or post-game.

  • Send out communication (text/email) to parents prior to games reminding them of social distancing and congregating guidelines

 

 

**If your team does not have a team manager or the team manager is not present at the game then the head coach or assistant coach is responsible for assuming the roles of the team manager.

 

Spectator Responsibility

  • Only sit in designated spectator areas (same as regular league matches)
  • Abide by social distancing policy of 6 away from other spectators outside of your household
  • No congregating on sidelines or in parking lot before, during, or after matches
  • Sit a minimum of 10 off sideline
  • Under no circumstances can a parent approach or be in the designated team area
  • Wear PPE’s when interacting with other spectators, coaches, referees, or other players within a radius of 6
  • Stay home if you have any signs or symptoms of being sick
  • If you are a person of high risk, do not attend
  • Symptom check players before arriving at field
  • Avoid contact with any players or spectators outside of your households
