Why is part of the 2010 State Cup Played in 2009?
UYSA State Cup is part of the US Youth Soccer National Championships Series which is played yearly. The 2009 Championships was complete after the National Tournament in July 2009. The Region IV tournament was played in June with the winners advancing to the National Tournament. Utah State Cup is played in two installments Boys and Girls. For the 2010 State Cup Boys U11-U18 will play in the Fall and Girls U11-U19 plus Boys U19 will play in the Spring. The winners will advance to the Regional IV Championships (Regionals) to be held June 2010. So you see, the Fall State Cup being played in 2009 is actually part of the 2010 State Cup Championships.

National Championship Series Fact Sheet
OVERVIEW:
Each summer US Youth Soccer crowns a boys and girls national champion in each of its six age divisions (Under 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19). The finals are a culmination of a year-long series of competitions at the state and regional levels. The US Youth Soccer National Championship Series provides approximately 129,000 players on 7,200 teams from US Youth Soccer's 55 State Associations the opportunity to showcase their soccer skills against the best competition in the nation, while emphasizing teamwork, discipline and fair play.
STATE CUPS:
