Avalanche vs Colorado Rush
Avalanche had lots of trouble linking passes together under constant pressure from Rush. This resulted in multiple shots and several good saves by the Avalanche keeper.
Avalanche vs Flathead Force
Avalanche rebounded from yesterday's loss to play a more controlled, attacking game with several shots just missing. Several nice combination passes between Sarah Duke, Stephanie Scott, and Megan Turnerdrown resulted in several shots on goal. Finally Megan dribbled past two defenders and passed the ball into the goal. Natalie Cude put a nice through ball to Ashley Askwig who shot the ball just outside the goal. Later, Ashley put a through ball to Megan who was brought down in the box resulting in an unsuccessful penalty kick that hit the right post to end the half.
The 2nd half was much the same--dominated by Avalanche with several close shots. Montana had few shots on goal--one hitting the top bar. Late in the game Montana took more command and finally equalized on a long run and break-away shot, leaving a last furious minute with a final shot by Megan stopped by the Montana keeper. The game ended 1-1.
