Impact Black 1 vs FC Portland Silver 1
In the 1st half Impact Black stayed organized and held things together defensively. They handled several crosses well and their goalkeeper made some good saves. They created a few good chances to score on counter attacks. James Cook had several strong attacking runs with the ball. Just before the half Cook beat three players down the left side of the field and played the ball across for Travis Heugly to run onto. He beat the keeper to the ball, cut past the keeper to the middle of the field and placed the ball into the open net.
Five minutes into the second half Impact's defense failed to clear a ball in front of their goal, an FC Portland player bounced on the ball to even the score 1-1. Impact's goalkeeper, Ryan Lynsky, played an excellent game making a number of good saves to keep the came tied 1-1.
Impact Black 6 vs Nevada United 0
Utah took command of the game right from the start by scoring two early goals. Impact played with great energy and much more high intensity than Nevada. Goal three came in the 22nd minute by Judson Tidwell on a cross from Max Malmquist. Angel Enriquez had a great over-all first half. The 2nd half began much like the first with Impact scoring early on a break away by James Cook. Goal five followed shortly thereafter. Jeff Sonntag crossed the ball in from the right side and Max Malmquist headed the ball to Judson who finished for the goal. In the 2nd half Nevada had a couple of good chances to score but Ryan Lynsky was there to make the saves. Enriquez added the 6th goal on a great individual run in the 67th minute of the game.
