Match Recap

This was a very physical and hard-fought match. Utah Rush scored first half way through the 2nd half on a penalty kick by Nic Mijic. Less than five minutes later, the Goal for La Roca was scored by a phenomenal individual play made by Francisco Garay where he dribbled the ball thru three Rush's defenders and shot the ball from about 15 yards out. The great goal keeper for Rush, KC John, couldn't do anything to stop it. The match was tied 1-1 in regulation time and went to overtime. At the end of overtime no one scored so it went to penalty kicks. It was to the 7th shooter from La Roca that decided the winner of the game. Jason Lang, forward for La Roca, scored the last kick and gave the team their 3rd State Cup crown in the last three years. La Roca's Goalkeeper, Matt Jensen, and Rush's two keepers, KC John and Steven Sharp had some phenomenal and dramatic saves in the shootout as well as during the game.
