WHY:

Boys & Girls Clubs of South Valley is pleased to announce a program offering free $50,000 term life insurance policies to benefit children of working families. The policy is provided through MassMutual, who pays all insurance premiums on the policies as part of the company’s philanthropic LifeBridgeSMprogram. Eligible parents and legal guardians may apply for this coverage during the Health & Safety Fair.
The Great Futures Health & Safety Fair will also feature:
· Eye Care 4 Kids will provide FREE vision screening for kids 3-18 years old.
· AAA will conduct car seat safety inspections (from 4 pm – 6 pm).
· Utah Department of Health will provide FREE fluoride treatment for kids.
· Utah Highway Patrol will feature safety belt simulations (from 3 pm – 6 pm).
· Take Care Utah (UHPP) will offer applications for free and low-cost health insurance.
In addition, informational booths will highlight CHIP enrollment, American Cancer Society, Utah’s Donate Life, NetSmartz, Safe Kids, and Teen Smart Driver Training.

In keeping with our vision, the Boys & Girls Club programs that afternoon will focus on healthy lifestyles including:
3 pm - 4 pm: Cavity-Free Zone - to teach Boys & Girls Clubs members how to take care of their oral health
4 pm - 5 pm: Triple Play - dynamic wellness program currently offered in Boys & Girls Clubs that demonstrates how eating right, keeping fit and forming positive relationships add up to a healthy lifestyle
5 pm - 6 pm Healthy Habits - emphasizes good nutrition, regular physical activity and improving overall well-being

Affiliated with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Valley (BGCSV) was founded in 1967. BGCSV has Club facilities in Murray and Midvale and also operates after school programs at Oquirrh Hills Elementary in Kearns and Heartland Elementary in West Jordan. Hundreds of thousands of youth and families have been served at our Clubs over the past 45 years.
