Selection of Playoff Teams for April 13 and 14
On April 13 and 14, the age/gender groups with more than one bracket will meet to determine a spring champion. In age/gender groups where there is only one bracket, those champions will be determined by round robin results.
The location of those playoffs will depend on the composition of the brackets. We will keep each group informed of possible playoff sites.
In age/gender groups where there are two brackets, the first and second place teams, as determined by bracket points, will advance to the championship. Tie-breakers for first and second place will be determined by FWRL rules 4.11 and 4.12.
In age/gender groups where there are three brackets, the first place team in each bracket will advance. Tie-breakers for first place within the bracket will be determined by FWRL rules 4.11 and 4.12.
The fourth team for the April 13, 14 championship will be selected using the same method that Far West Regionals uses to determine wild card playoff teams in uneven pools, averaged to allow for the fact that teams may play an uneven number of games. If more than two teams are tied, the criteria will be used to first advance, and then eliminate a team from advancing. In all cases, the criteria below do not include games that resulted in forfeits because of teams that failed to appear to play their games. Forfeits caused by failure to appear will be excluded in the tie-breaker computation.
1) Total league points accumulated during Round 1, divided by number of games played.
2) Goal differential, up to a maximum of four per game, divided by number of games played.
3) Least number of goals allowed, divided by number of games played.
4) Number of wins divided by number of games played.
5) Coin toss.
