U.S. National Futsal Team Selection
Forza U12 player Jeffrey Dewsnup (Forza West Premier 03 boys), coached for the last three years by Ahmed Bakrim, was recently selected to the U.S. National Futsal Team for U12 boys. Originally competing as a field player in the early National Team selection process, Jeffrey was identified as a top prospect for the often intense and critical position of Futsal Goalkeeper by U.S. National Team Goalkeeper Coach Mark Litton at ID & Training camps in San Diego and Milwaukee. After training with Coach Litton and U.S. Men's National Team Head Coach Keith Tozer, Jeffrey received an invitation to the U.S. Youth Futsal National ID Camp in Overland Park Kansas in July where four days of intense training and games would culminate in the formal naming of National teams in ages U12, U14 & U16. Litton commented after the selection announcement that “During the training sessions and games, Jeffrey made a huge impression on the coaching staff, parents and friends, making save after save. He was literally the talk of the camp the whole weekend, helping his team show as one of the strongest of all teams. He turned a lot of heads and won many fans over those four days, myself included. He is a remarkable story. I feel very confident in saying that this young man has a very bright future with our U.S. Youth National Futsal Team program, and if he continues to progress he could be representing his country some day on the Men’s U.S. Futsal National Team”. Jeffrey is excited to be a part of the U.S. National Team and improving his game. He looks forward to representing the United States later this year in an international tournament and the honor of wearing the U.S. Colors. Congratulations Jeffrey!
