Utah Youth Soccer Association Promotes Bryan Attridge to
Chief Executive Officer
Sandy, UT – Utah Youth Soccer Association (UYSA),the leader in promoting, developing and governing youth soccer in Utah, is pleased to announce the promotion of Chief Operations Officer (COO), Bryan Attridge to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In this role, Attridge will lead the organization with the goal of supporting the mission of UYSA.
Brian Smith, President of the Board of Directors for Utah Youth Soccer Association, says of the decision to hire Attridge, “During the review of our numerous applicants, Bryan was a constant reminder, to the hiring committee, of the personality, demeanor, smarts, grit, determination, and experience, that we needed to place in the leadership role for UYSA. Bryan's relationships with and respect of nearly every person and organization he worked with are irreplaceable and a major part of the fabric of UYSA and the success of our organizational membership. Bryan is absolutely his own person with a new outlook, fresh perspective, his own ideas, and ways he wants to take UYSA while working with an extremely confident and supportive board of directors that plans to give him plenty of reigns to drive the rig.”
Attridge has spent the last 8 years of his professional career growing and developing with Utah Youth Soccer. He started as one of five employees at Utah Youth Soccer in 2010 as the Member Services Director where his first task was the creation of a new standard for registration and certification. He was also integral in the transition from payment of referees on-field to electronically through the association. Attridge helped with the transition into a new building, the creation of new, augmented programming and growth into a much-needed larger office staff as the association grew from 35,000 players to nearly 55,000 players. He has been the feet on the ground, representing Utah Youth Soccer at Regional and National events where he has been the state contact for Utah teams competing at these events. In 2013 he was promoted to Director of Operations where he continued to make improvements for the association which included the establishment of the new League Commissioner Role. In 2017, he moved into his most recent role as Chief Operations Officer where he worked closely with the CEO in financial and legal matters, and strategic planning and vision for the future while still managing the daily operations in the office.
Attridge says about his experience with UYSA, “Over the past 8 years I’ve been involved in every aspect of our association. I’ve loved my time at Utah Youth Soccer and the people I’ve been fortunate to work with in and out of the office. I’m excited and passionate about this new opportunity and know that I will bring a membership first focus to the role, while constantly striving to improve our communication, customer service, and programs.”
Utah Youth Soccer Association received interest from more than 50 qualified applicants for this position in what was a Nationwide search for the best and most qualified candidate. In the end it was with much excitement that the board and hiring committee saw Attridge’s priceless experience and history with UYSA, his professional yet approachable demeanor and knew he was the right individual up to the task of leading Utah Youth Soccer forward.
Attridge continues, “I’m really excited for the future of UYSA. I care about this association and want the best experience for everyone involved. I look forward to meeting with our membership over the next few months to continue to foster relationships and get feedback for our organization.”
Bryan and his wife, Esther have four children: Isla (8), Claire (5), Jude (4) and Emma (1.5). They reside in Draper.
Attridge is originally from Okanogan, WA. He was awarded his Masters of Arts, Sport and Athletic Administration from Gonzaga University in 2015, and received his Bachelors of Science, Geography with a minor in Business Management from Brigham Young University in 2010.
