The Utah Youth Soccer Association is seeking a Soccer Complex Groundskeeper to oversee the daily maintenance and management of all fields and grounds within the UYSA/Shivwits Legacy Field Complex.
Position Description: The UYSA/Shivwits Legacy Field Groundskeeper is responsible for daily maintenance and management of all fields and grounds within the UYSA/Shivwits Legacy Field Complex. This role requires expertise in sports field management, irrigation system maintenance, and effective communication with staff, members, and senior management.
Responsibilities
Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of all fields, grounds, parking areas, and storage yards.
Perform chemical and other fertilizer applications as needed.
Manage and maintain all aspects of the irrigation system, including repair and maintenance, daily operation, scheduling, and inventory management of parts.
Order and purchase materials and parts for the complex maintenance equipment fleet.
Manage the repair and maintenance of all complex maintenance equipment.
Assign and develop work-efficient schedules to meet staffing needs for maintenance, field preparation, and event setups. Recruit and hire staff as needed.
Train and implement procedures for Shivwits maintenance staff.
Communicate effectively with staff, members, and senior management.
Coordinate field and complex preparations with UYSA staff and Shivwits Band Representative(s) for all events and activities at the complex, including field set up.
Work with Band leadership to post and recruit band members for available job openings in accordance with the UYSA/Shivwits Band operating agreement.
Preferred Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in sports field management, maintenance, and setup, including field striping and equipment placement primarily for soccer or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of a 2-year college Agronomy degree or equivalent work experience.
Fluency in English, including verbal, written, and reading skills, is required.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast paced, team environment
