Utah Soccer is proud to announce the newly established Utah Women’s Soccer Network. Made possible by a three-year-grant from U.S. Soccer, the network will serve as a supportive platform for women throughout their soccer journey to inspire, educate, and lead.
Led by Erin Lindley, the Programs and Education Coordinator for Utah Soccer, the network will strive to help all female players and coaches feel supported within their roles, learn leadership skills, and grow in both their knowledge and experiences.
“This network was created to establish a structured path for the women and girls in Utah who are involved in the soccer community. Our focus is to help these individuals feel empowered and supported throughout their entire journey. I am incredibly grateful that U.S. Soccer has provided us with this grant, which will open so many new doors for this network. I could not be prouder to be a part of this program and look forward to the progress and growth that we will see over the next few years,” Lindley said.
With the launch of this new network, several groups including current youth players (ages 12-17), college players, and coaches will be provided with opportunities such as an educational series, leadership trainings, and access to scholarships for Grassroots and D-license courses.
“Throughout my 10-year-tenure with the Utah Youth Soccer Association I have been privileged to witness and be a piece of the tremendous growth and development of the game in our State. I look forward to seeing that growth and the opportunities continue to evolve with the gift of this incredible grant for women in all capacities around the game. The love of soccer doesn’t have to cease after a player’s time on the field is over as the involvement is truly limitless. This grant will help create those pathways for the girls and women, and we are so excited to see this in action,” Technical Department Manager for Utah Soccer, Jenni Breckenridge said.
This announcement marks yet another milestone in the growth of women’s soccer in Utah. In addition to the recent return of the Utah Royals and the success of local youth and college programs at the National level, The Utah Women’s Soccer Network is determined to continue growing the women’s game and all that it encompasses within the Beehive State.
