A beloved leader, mentor, veteran, and friend whose impact will live on for generations
Utah Soccer is deeply saddened by the passing of Orden Yost, a true legend, mentor, and friend to so many throughout the Utah soccer community.
Throughout the years, Orden served in countless leadership roles, including as a founder and Club President of Murray Soccer Club, District 1 Board Chair, UYSA Board member, Tournament Chair, and most recently, State Committee Chair of the Legacy Fields Project. He was a driving force behind efforts to secure land and develop fields that will serve future generations of Utah soccer players.
But Orden’s greatest impact went far beyond titles, tournaments, and fields. He genuinely believed in the power of soccer to shape young people’s lives. He cherished watching players he once coached or supported grow up to become parents, aunts, uncles, coaches, and leaders who continued giving back to the game.
A U.S. Army veteran, Orden lived a life of service. He freely gave his time, energy, and experience, always looking for ways to make the soccer community stronger and better.
Orden once shared how much he valued the opportunity to give back and help young boys and girls grow into positive, happy, and productive adults—teaching them not only how to win, but how to lose with grace and dignity.
That spirit is perhaps the greatest part of Orden’s legacy. His fingerprints are on so much of Utah soccer, but more importantly, his influence lives on in the countless people he encouraged, supported, and helped along the way.
We are incredibly grateful for Orden’s friendship, leadership, service, and unwavering love for the game. His legacy will continue through the clubs, fields, players, families, and people he helped shape.
